[story]
The Proto-Strike was the originally intended prototype for the full production Earth Alliance mobile suit, GAT-01 Strike Dagger. However, one major flaw of the Proto-Strike was that it sorely underestimated the capabilities of the ZAFT mobile suits; EA scientists predicted that all ZAFT suits would serve more as immobile fire platforms, rather than adaptable and flexible mobile troops, as displayed by the first few days of the war. Consequently, the Proto-Strike was completely retooled to the contemporary GAT-X105 Strike.
The Proto-Strike was armed lightly with a linear revolver pistol (GAU-P1 "Linear Python") and a pair of Igelstellung CIWS mounted in its head. However, the Proto-Strike was also a testbed for what would make up the versatility of the Strike; interchangeable purpose packs; attachments which would enhance the machine in a certain combat role.

No, the story isn't official. Neither is this MS X3 It feels nice to say that my drawing looks good -- it makes a big difference inking with differing pen widths =P As much as its a pain to ink with a 0.05 pen, its worth the effort ^w^ I can do minute details really good *ahem* So you ask where these Interchangeable Purpose Packs are? Well, that should come later... right now, I should sleep..Zzzz....

Le Enjoy. This Proto-Strike needs an equipment pic to really do it justice...Zz.z.zz...

Yes, this is rather skinny, but this way, the techs could more than likely test out if everything was working correctly "below the hood" prior to shipping. It's not uncommon in a real military situation to test out some things before the final is built. Nice concept. It even looks official!

Well thanks for the praise. In retrospect though, this is too skinny :|

You're welcome. Just remember: In anime, everything can be made believable by some plot device.

I've come to terms that it's impossible to please everyone so I'm not surprised/offended/saddened

The legs and posture are sooooo Gundam 00, as is the overall scrawny mech look. Almost like a Dagger-series mobile suit on Slim-Fast. And the head kinda weirds me out for some reason.

That said, your lines are clean, your detail is amazing and impressive for traditional work. You have the look and feel of mecha down perfectly.

Hm. I'll tell you that I didn't intend for this to look like any of the gundams in 00 @__@ My idea was that it was to be lighter and faster than a Ginn, and perhaps its only real defence is its speed - an ace tank shot could ruin this Strike's shit :XD: (I understand this premise is somewhat cliché now >___> )

Good to see you can appreciate my effort lol, as much as not everyone would agree to the premise of the design =P Haha but I wouldn't label my stuff as "perfect" so quickly though, simply because the end-result for every bloody drawing I make is extremely erratic .___. Nevertheless, I appreciate it :salute:
